Growing up my mom used to make the family this dinner that we all loved about one time per month. It was so simple, yet so delicious. She made organic kidney beans, brown rice, and then put American cheese on it. To top it off she would put onions and then soy sauce. It was so wonderful, I loved it, and my whole family loved it.
Today I made it. Not exactly the same way as my mom, but kind of. I used white rice because it was easy to make. It was the instant kind where you just add water and then put it in the microwave for about five minutes. Next I put canned beans into a pan and heated them up. I then put the rice in a bowl, put the beans on top, then I put yellow cheese on top and put it into the microwave for about a minute. I did not have onions or soy sauce so things were just not as good as they were growing up. I drank some Doctor Pepper with it and all in all it was a great meal. I am planning on next time to do it up right, make it with organic food and make it taste like the kind my mom used to make. The great thing is there is plenty left over for tomorrow and the next couple of days. Probably in the morning I will pick up some onions so I can slice them up and put them on top.
