To end this, forget taking drugs for stress relief and to feel better. Go eat some comfort foods. They work just as good, if not better. The only side effect that you will get is a big nap afterwords and a larger than average belly filled with fat. You can avoid the big belly if you exercise the next day and later on during the week, but most of us don't, including me. Speaking of this, I need to go out for a walk later tonight to burn off some of the calories even though it would be much more fun to watch Dr. House M.D. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to keep the wife happy.

Comfort Foods With Fried Chicken and Mac and Cheese
Just this last Saturday I felt stressed. The economy is starting to do better but still not what it was. Work has been very stressful and I have been putting in mad hours. I like work and I like some stress, but this is a bit over what I can handle. I know it is my own fault and I need to work on my own ability to cope with the stress. I do have one strategy that I use and I did it big time on Saturday, I ate comfort food for stress relief. I must admit, for about the hour that I was indulging I was not thinking about anything about work or anything stressful. I was in the "food zone" where all the b.s. in the world goes away. The zone where the mind goes into a state of pure bliss. I was basically high for about one hour. What did I eat? I had fried chicken and mac and cheese. I ate 4 pieces of chicken. The breast, a thigh, and two wings. I then had a big bowl of mac and cheese. I ate the whole thing. I took my time while eating and really let my taste buds get a workout. I really love fried chicken. You see, my great grandmother was from Southern Maryland and she used to make this fried chicken that worked better than any drug as far as brining you to a better state of mind. She used this iron skillet that had layers and layers of food on it, it was quite gross looking at it. I remember asking what all that was in the iron skillet and she said that it was what makes the food taste good. I later found at that she simply wiped the skillet out with a rag and never really washed it. I guess that is the secret. It must have been what that restaurant did on Saturday because it was almost as good as my great grandmothers. It brought me back to that spot when I spent time with her and when that happens that is some excellent chicken.
