Veggie burger?

The wife has been wanting me to eat less and less meat these days, she says that it is not good to eat it all that often. This must be coming from something that she is reading, or hearing from one of her family members or friends. Either way, she is on a mission to help me eat less meat.

What does she do about it? She purchased a dozen veggie burgers in Newcastle, WA and brings them home. She presented them to me, and I reviewed them, looked them over, and then I decided that I would try one even though they look boring and dull. My wife is one amazing cook. She was quite excited to make it because it is made out of vegetables and is supposed to be good for the health. I watched "Top Chef" while she prepared the burgers. It was a great show, it was the one where they take all the best performers from previous episodes and have them compete. Anyway, back to the subject. She finally finished making the meal. While the patty was cooking on the pan and the cheese was melting on top she cut up lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and then grilled up the buns and put a touch of mayo and ketchup on it. Then she put the non-meat patty in place and set it in front of me with all the goodies on the side. I put everything together and took one big gigantic bite right into it.

Did I like it, do I recommend it? YES. Beyond any doubt I would say go for it, eat it, enjoy it. It is amazing. I am looking forward to having another one tomorrow. This does not mean that I will give up meat, but I might just eat meat about once or twice per week for a while and see what happens. I will need to make sure that I get enough protein because it makes my mind feel warm and fuzzy.
